Marketing Takes Time

Marketing is a long game, especially in portrait photography because it is a luxury (not a necessity). Everything I’m doing today marketing-wise is to book my calendar for several years for now. I plant the seeds now, tend to them, and reap the fruit in the future.

I am marketing my services as a once-in-a-lifetime experience so it takes multiple encounters with my brand for me to be able to articulate the value that I offer to my audience. Because of this, it took me 4 years (2013-2017) of building my business to the point I could take it full time.

I say this to offer your encouragement to stay the course. What you do today will likely not book you the client tomorrow, or next month. But it is important work to build off of as you build your brand!
